TP REGISTRATION BECOME A CERTIFIED TRAINING PROVIDER

For any organization to become a certified Training Provider (TP) under the Skill India Mission, a formal registration process must be completed. This certification is granted by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and its affiliated Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), and it allows training centers to offer government-recognized skill development programs.

What is TP Registration?

Training Provider (TP) registration is the official process that certifies an institution to deliver high-quality, industry-relevant training under the Skill India Mission. By becoming a registered TP, your organization gains the authority to train candidates according to national standards, leading to government-approved and industry-recognized certifications for your students.

The registration process

  1. Register on the Skill India portal: Begin by creating a user profile for your organization on the official Skill India Digital (SID) portal.
  2. Submit TP application: Fill out the detailed Training Provider registration form, providing all organizational, financial, and infrastructural details.
  3. Apply for center accreditation: After TP registration is approved, submit a separate application to get your training center(s) accredited. This is done through the Center Accreditation and Affiliation Form (CAAF).
  4. Undergo verification and inspection: An authorized inspection agency will conduct a desktop assessment of your submitted documents and may follow up with a physical inspection of your training center.
  5. Receive approval and sign MoU: Upon successful verification and inspection, you will receive an official approval and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NSDC and the relevant SSC.

Key documents required

  1. Organization documents: Certificate of Incorporation/Registration, PAN card, and GST registration.
  2. Financial documents: Audited financial statements and IT returns for the last 2-3 years.
  3. Promoter/Director documents: Aadhaar and PAN cards of the key stakeholders.
  4. Infrastructure documents: Proof of ownership or lease agreement for the training center, floor plans, and photographs of the facilities.
  5. Trainer documents: Resumes, qualification certificates, and ToT/ToA certifications of the trainers.

Eligibility criteria

To qualify for TP registration, an organization must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Legal entity status: Must be a legally registered organization (e.g., Company, Society, or Trust).
  • Infrastructure and facilities: Must possess well-equipped training centers with appropriate classrooms, labs, and tools for the chosen sector.
  • Qualified trainers: The organization must have certified trainers with the relevant qualifications and industry experience for the job roles they intend to offer.
  • Financial stability: Must demonstrate financial capacity to sustain training operations, typically through audited financial statements for the last few years.
  • Experience (preferred): While not mandatory for all programs, prior experience in skill development enhances your chances of approval.

Benefits of becoming a certified Training Provider

  • National recognition: Certification from NSDC and affiliated SSCs enhances your institution's credibility and allows it to offer nationally recognized qualifications.
  • Access to government schemes: Certified TPs can participate in major government-sponsored programs, such as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), and may be eligible for project-based funding.
  • Industry alignment: Your training programs will be aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and industry-validated Qualification Packs (QPs) and National Occupational Standards (NOS), ensuring that training meets market demands.
  • Enhanced placements: Being part of the Skill India ecosystem improves networking with potential employers and increases placement opportunities for your trained candidates.
  • Quality assurance: A regular monitoring and assessment framework ensures consistently high standards of training delivery, infrastructure, and faculty.
