Register as a Certified Trainer or Assessor 

To uphold the highest standards of vocational training, the Skill India ecosystem requires all trainers and assessors to be certified through a nationally recognized process. This ensures that skilled professionals are equipped with the pedagogical and assessment skills necessary to deliver quality training under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

What is ToT and ToA?

• Training of Trainers (ToT): This program certifies individuals to become effective vocational trainers in their respective sectors. It focuses on modern training methodologies, industry-specific expertise, and alignment with NSQF standards.
• Training of Assessors (ToA): This program is for professionals who wish to evaluate and certify the skills and competencies of trainees. It equips them with the necessary knowledge and techniques to ensure standardized and reliable assessments. 

Registration process for certified professionals

1. Online portal registration: The first step is to register on the official Skill India portal for trainers and assessors. You will need to create a profile and provide your personal details, educational qualifications, and industry experience.
2. Sector Skill Council (SSC) application: Once registered, you will apply for the specific job role training through the relevant SSC. The portal provides a calendar of upcoming ToT and ToA programs conducted by the SSCs.
3. Eligibility screening: The application will be reviewed by the SSC to verify that you meet the necessary educational qualifications and industry experience for the job role.
4. Enrollment in the program: Eligible candidates will be enrolled in the structured ToT or ToA program. The format may be a comprehensive program for new trainers/assessors or a condensed assessment-only program for existing professionals with significant prior experience.
5. Final assessment and certification: After completing the training, you must pass a final assessment that covers both domain knowledge and platform (training or assessment) skills. Successful candidates receive a nationally recognized certification.
6. Listing as a certified professional: Upon successful certification, your name is added to the official database of certified trainers and assessors, making you eligible to conduct training and assessments for SSC-affiliated programs.
