GUMASTA REGISTRATION 2025 GET YOUR SHOP ACT LICENSE

The Gumasta license, also known as the Shop and Establishment Act license, is a mandatory registration for businesses in Maharashtra, governed by the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017. The registration process can be completed online for 2025 through the official state portal. 

Documents required

The specific documents needed depend on your business structure.

For a sole proprietorship: 

• Aadhaar card
• PAN card
• Passport-sized photographs
• Address proof (e.g., electricity bill, rent agreement, or sale deed)
• Application letter
• Proof of ownership of the business property (or a No Objection Certificate from the landlord) 

For a partnership firm: 

• Partnership deed
• PAN card of the firm
• PAN and Aadhaar cards of all partners
• Address proof for the business
• Proof of ownership of the business property (or a No Objection Certificate from the landlord) 

For a private limited company: 

• Certificate of Incorporation
• Memorandum of Association (MoA)
• Articles of Association (AoA)
• PAN card of the company
• Director's identity and address proof
• Business address proof (utility bill, rent agreement) 

Important details to remember

• Time limit: You must apply for the license within 60 days of starting your business.
• No physical visits: The process is designed to be fully online, eliminating the need to visit government offices.
