WOMEN'S DEVELOPEDMENT PROJECTS 

The projects below are designed to support women's development across various areas, including economic stability, health, safety, education, and leadership. Many of these initiatives are driven by government programs, NGOs, and community-based organizations to address the unique challenges women face. 

Economic empowerment

These projects provide women with the skills and financial resources to achieve independence and contribute to their families and communities. 

• Self-help groups (SHGs): This model brings women together into groups to save money and access micro-credit for setting up small enterprises.
• Skill training for entrepreneurship: Programs like India's Drone Didi Scheme train women from SHGs to become drone pilots for agricultural purposes, such as delivering medicines and groceries. Other initiatives focus on traditional crafts, beauty services, and small-scale business management.
• Financial literacy programs: Providing financial education helps women understand banking procedures, manage budgets, and invest in their businesses, leading to greater financial inclusion.
• Digital literacy and e-commerce platforms: Projects that teach digital skills allow women to connect with broader markets and sell their products online. 

Health and sanitation

These projects improve women's physical and mental well-being by addressing specific health challenges and needs. 

• Comprehensive health screening campaigns: Initiatives like India's Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan organize health camps to screen for common issues such as anemia, breast cancer, and reproductive health problems.
• Menstrual hygiene management (MHM): These projects raise awareness about menstrual health and provide access to affordable sanitary products and proper waste disposal facilities, especially for rural women.

• Safe City projects: This initiative, active in major Indian cities, aims to create a safe environment for women in public spaces by improving infrastructure and access to law enforcement.
• Legal aid and awareness: Projects that educate women on their rights and provide access to legal assistance, helping them navigate the justice system. 

Community and societal change

These initiatives work to challenge traditional gender norms and increase women's participation in decision-making. 

• Community mobilization initiatives: These projects involve empowering women to take leadership roles in local decision-making and community governance.
• Women-led cooperatives: Encouraging women to form cooperatives for collective action, particularly in sectors like farming and dairy.
• Climate change adaptation: Projects like CREA train women to become leaders in climate change resilience and adaptation, ensuring their communities are better prepared for environmental shifts.
